This chest of drawers, which is on sale elsewhere for up to forty pounds more than this price, is advertised as being 'solid pine' but in fact the back of the cabinet and the drawer bottoms are all made of hardboard. It is a good looking piece of furniture with good instructions, but I have to say I was disappointed by the cheap look of the back and the drawers. This is the sort of thing you expect with a chest costing £50 from MFI, but not something that is three or four times that price and advertised as being solid wood. However, it will fulfil the purpose I bought it for and if I am careful not to overload the drawers or to get them wet in any way, even though it was bought to store bathroom items, hopefully it will last a while! Don't buy it unless you plan to stand it against a wall and you're happy with some parts being hardboard. What a shame - a really nice looking piece of furniture spoiled for the sake of a few quid.
